Yet Another Fractal Explorer
Yet Another Fractal Explorer (Yafe) is an interactive fractal renderer for Windows. It features extremely simple and intuitive user interface and is capable of producing mathematically-sound renderings.
The most important feature of Yafe is its user interface. When the area of the image is selected for zooming in, current view is saved in a history pane on the right-hand side, zoomed area is expanded into the view and re-rendered with screen resolution. Clicking on the history items unzooms the view back to its saved state, while the transitional animation clearly shows where the current area belongs in the view being restored... Sort of hard to explain, just give it a try and you'll see :)
As of current release Yafe supports Mandelbrot, Lyapunov and Newton fractals with Lyapunov renderer being one of the fastest available. All renderings are performed in 24 bit color at one of 3 preset quality levels and with optional antialiasing.
The image can also be rendered directly into the disk file, in which case it's processed line-by-line and thus requires very little memory even for huge images. There's virtually no limit on how big the images could be.
